Nutty Whole Wheat Loaf

Featured in: Weekend Laurel-Crust Specials

This soft whole wheat loaf is enriched with a blend of walnuts, pecans, and hazelnuts to add a crunchy texture and nutty flavor. The dough combines whole wheat and bread flours, balanced with warm water, yeast, and a touch of brown sugar for natural sweetness. After kneading in the nuts, the dough rises twice, creating a tender crumb that's perfect for sandwiches or enjoying with butter. Baking at 375°F yields a golden crust and a hollow sound, signaling the loaf is perfectly done.
